A former school, the building became known as the Botcherby Youth and Community Centre in 1968.
It has seen many changes over the decades and has had several facelifts and additions to the main building.
Most recently, following the Great Flood of Carlisle in January 2005, the centre was gutted after the flood left it totally ruined. Months of work followed to fully refurbish the building. This included new floors, new kitchen, new furniture, new heating system... in fact almost everything was replaced. We now have an up-to-date, modern, comfortable centre with facilities second-to-none.
